Bumblebee Lodge
Papa Mac purchased this 1890s stone farm house and defunct dairy in 1945 as a get away from Houston. His personal Easy street. He promptly improved the farm house and added a studio and cottage. Soon after he added a pool, the first in the county. His wife, Edith, a painter, inspired and was a driving force in founding the Hill Country Arts Foundation down the road. Along with assistance founding the art club and garden league, the family became a part of the area's history. Throughout the years multiple generations of the family have lived at BumbleBee Lodge and continued her legacy at the Hill Country Arts Foundation.
